Holi Festival is an ancient Hindu religious festival primarily observed in India, Nepal and other Hindu regions. It happens in spring and more popularly known as festival of colours and festival of love. This festival commemorates Hindi god Krishna’s dance with gopikas which signifies victory over evil.
Recently, this festival is now being observed by non-Hindu population most especially in South Asia. And just last year, the Asia Society Philippines, together with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce, SingIndia Music of the Soul, and Indian Ladies Club, brought this festival in Manila! It was a success and last March 16, 2014, I was able to experience this religious festival at SM Mall of Asia by the Bay!
People gather in SM MOA throwing colored powder, sing, dance, play instrument, eat Indian delicacies, and party till nightime! Sharing you some of the pictures I had. Too bad I didn’t have my SLR.
